Work-related - Todd

I wrote this little obit this morning at the office - it got some good laughs so I thought I would share.

At 8:45 A.M. today, the Orbit II CD Duplicator copied its final disc.

As many of you know, Old Orbity had been feeling less than 100% for the last year. He became very sensitive to heat and cold, power fluctuations, and would often require a emergency defibrillation in the form of a few good whacks to get him working again. In the last 24 hours, "The Burner" (as he was sometimes referred to) just didn't have the will to copy. Even in diagnostic mode he was rebooting often and unable to complete his tasks for the marketing and technical communication teams.

Orbit II served a long, useful life at NDCHealth. His 5 year life span saw divestitures, mergers, acquisitions, software releases, and many presentations. His performance was exemplary - working as hard as 3 FTEs. His incessant beeping when empty would drive many to homicidal frustration. Now, that beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep is all we have to remember. Au revoir mon ami.
