Slate Article on Lolita, re: Author/Narrator (Peg)

Here's the URL for the article I mentioned. The Author/Narrator stuff doesn't come up until pretty far in, so be patient. Would love to hear, especially from Brad and Jim, whether y'all feel it's relevant to the questions raised last night.

Thanks Peggy. I really enjoyed the article. Norbokov had to get into the sordid essence it says of child pornography. He had to become the character, in a way. Something he does so well he humanizes the monster to us where despite ourselves we like the character and feel sorry for him, and even forget the damage he's doing. I find it interesting as to why Norbokov wanted to do that, even though he could, and even if it makes a good story. Why get that close, I wonder. The author gets even closer than he draws us the readers into it. I wonder, if the author ever wondered why? (Jim)
